Yes, you would be crossing Russia, but Russia actually isn't that difficult to deal with, and because it is so big, it would cut down on the number of countries you would have to cross. I would also strongly suggest getting your ham radio license, installing an HF transceiver in the truck, and arranging for reciprocal licenses from the governments of the countries you will be crossing. ![]() Your engine should be fine on any diesel fuel available, but add a very good aftermarket, preferably heated, water-trapping fuel filter in addition to the factory filters. ![]() That would probably require the least amount of legal hoops to jump through while being very high adventure (but steer clear of Georgia) but would likely require a high degree of vehicle modification: winch, lockers front and rear, good tires (with a couple of complete sets of spares), etc. If I were going to do it, I would probably start out on the Alaska Highway, drive to the coast, cross the Bering Strait via ship, then cross Siberia overland following up with Scandinavia, Iceland and back to North America via Canada.
